Junior Engineer (m/f/d) Laboratory Setup and Electronic Measurements for Space Projects

activities:

  • Setup, support and commercialisation of the laser test laboratory
  • Independent planning, execution and evaluation of measurements on electronic components in internal and external irradiation facilities
  • Performing irradiation tests on EEE components with ionising radiation sources (e.g. cobalt-60, protons, heavy ions)
  • Preparation of accredited test and measurement reports in accordance with international standards
  • Collaboration on quality management issues (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 27001)
  • Participation on project work on customer projects and projects for the European Space Agency (ESA)

 

What makes this job special:

  • You will be actively involved in setting up the SEE Laser Test Laboratory in Seibersdorf and will have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas.
  • You will travel to leading radiation facilities in Europe (including PSI Switzerland, CERN Geneva, Belgium, Holland, Germany) and continuously expand your expertise in the radiation resistance of electronics.
  • You will work in an interdisciplinary team that combines electronics knowledge, enthusiasm for technology and practical implementation.
  • You will gain comprehensive insights into international standards and quality management (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 27001).
  • You will develop step by step – from working in the laboratory to project management activities.

qualifications:

  • Completed or ongoing studies in physics, electrical engineering or comparable subjects
  • Initial experience in laboratory operations, laser technology or measurement technology is an advantage
  • Interest in project organisation and long-term development within the company
  • Analytical and structured approach to work, strong communication skills and team orientation
  • Very good German and English language skills
  • Category B driving licence and willingness to travel on business

annual fee:

The actual classification in the engineering career model, career level Junior Engineering, is based on the respective qualifications and experience. The annual salary for full-time employment is at least EUR 55,482.00 gross in accordance with the research collective agreement.
